If you are like us, you enjoy learning about new initiatives that aim to make a difference. You’re inspired by creative projects and innovative non-profit organizations. Thankfully, the Twin Cities has a lot of creative leaders doing amazing work to bridge the gaps in housing, food, and education.
But too often we’re asked to give money before we’re ready – and it can make us feel guilty. So we give 25.00 wondering if it actually makes a difference. (Now, don’t get us wrong, we not only love fundraising, but we teach it, too).
SO WE STARTED ASKING, WHAT IF WE CREATED AN EXPERIENCE WHERE PEOPLE COULD CONTRIBUTE IDEAS, CONNECTIONS AND GOOD VIBES? CAN’T THAT MAKE A DIFFERENCE, TOO?
A “Friendraiser” is built on the belief that when we gather together for experiences based on ideas, learning, exploration, stories and connections, it makes a difference in the lives of non-profit leaders.
So you can understand our excitement for the Friendraiser with Hopewell Music on October 9th.
Hopewell Music's mission is to empower students from the chronically underserved community of North Minneapolis to grow musically, academically, socially, and emotionally. Hopewell offers enriching studies of classical and contemporary music.
In their words: “We aspire to provide and be recognized as a high-quality music education program, while maintaining our position of open access to children and adults living in economically disadvantaged communities. We are committed to creating the next generation of life-long learners and lovers of music that are creative, innovative, and productive members of society.”
Will you join us October 9th to hear their stories?
HOW IT WORKS
We will interview leaders of Hopewell to get a sense for what they’re up to. At tables we’ll facilitate a few brainstorming activities (nothing weird, though). No worries, introverts. Our process is designed to be energetic, fun and inspiring. The goal is to brainstorm ideas and make connections to help Hopewell Music take their mission to the next level.
Can we do it without you? We’d rather not try.

It’s always good to enjoy an evening at home. But too much staying home results in a life of apathy and boredom. The world belongs to those who choose to show up, connect and offer what they have to contribute. In our experience, everyone has something to contribute. Can you join us?
